A four issue tie-in Predators comic book by Dark Horse Comics was released on June 9 to promote the release of the film. The comic series will serve as a prequel, adaptation and sequel to the events depicted in the film. The comics show more back story of the characters Royce and Isabelle than is depicted in the film. One such comic follows a team of Navy SEALs in the midst of a firefight when suddenly they awaken to find themselves in a new and more deadly environment being stalked by a strange enemy.
On July 9, 2010, there was the release of the Classic Predator, Falconer Predator, and Berserker Predator action figures. Mood Board: Homework

In my moodboard, I have shown both male and female characters portrayed in film.  However what I think is interesting in the moodboard is the clear role reversal; we see male actors literally playing female roles and female actors playing stereotypical male roles.  Also, the majority of these films are recent, which suggests that over time, audiences are used to this role reversal of men and women playing unstereotypical roles and men cross dressing.  this also shows how modern society has developed views of people expressing themselves in certain ways, as I am sure that in earlieryears audiences would not have been too comfortable with the concept.

A-A proposal

Film Proposal

Title: Badge of Honour

Genre: Action/Buddy

Equilibrium

Two FBI agents who are good, sophisticated cops. They are receiving praise for being good cops, and have just a resolved a very big crime including drugs and lots of money. Snoopy boss looking pleased as everyone else is, that they have solved the crime.

Disruption

After the celebrations one realises that there is 2 million dollars in his bank account, and several other pieces of evidence linking them to the major crime, drugs, documents in their name etc. They flee from the police department as masses of polices try hunt them down. What they dont realise is that their boss is the one who has set them up, and is corrupt, and linked to several major crimes. They begin on a journey to figure out what has happened, while the corrupt boss is hunting them down non stop throughout the film. Eventually they get evidence that their boss is corrupt and trying to frame them, so there is a dramatic fight/chase scene at the end of the film as they try to reveal the evidence of their corrupt boss.

Restoration

Corrupt boss is arrested and later sent to prison, while the two cops are promoted and are the heroes in the police department and famous in the city of New York. They remain partners and there is not a definite conclusion, so there is a possibility of a sequel.

Characters

Steven Nile- Brad Pitt

One of the two framed cops.

Inspirations

Rush Hour
Bourne Trilogy
Die Hard

Unique Selling Point

A serious police buddy film where two highly respected officers are framed for a series of crimes including murder and drugs.

Target Audience

My target audience are males aged between 16-25, simply because of the violence and iconography of guns, car chases, FBI agents, and corrupt officials. There are also 2 strong leading male heroes, which makes it doubly cool! I have targeted the biggest audience simply to get more money and it is the target audience I am associated with, and so I have a decent understanding of what a film requires.

Marketing Campaign

My marketing campaign will consist of a large online campaign with a fully developed website and a partnership with YouTube. The budget for the film would need to be large for a successful launch in both Europe and America. This would include TV spots and billboards prior to the release and during the films run, to ensure maximum potential to succeed in both the cinemas and DVD. To make the marketing campaign specific to my movie, I will have a prize giveaway of two tickets to New York, the setting of the film, with 5 star accomodation and spending money, and ways to enter the competition would be to go to the website and signup or buy a film ticket.

Narrative

The Bourne Ultimatum, as it is the third installment in the Bourne series, does not follow the conventional three part structure.

There is never an equilibrium in the film as Bourne is on the run from the very beginning of the film. If anything the only equilibrium in the trilogy is in the second installment, when Jason Bourne is living happily with his girlfriend in India.

The disruption in the film is constant, Bourne suffers from amnesia and is trying to uncover the truth about his past as a trained assassin, whilst being chased by the authorities and the shadowy characters from operation blackbriar and treadstone.

Again, if there is any restoration in the triology it would be in the first movie the Bourne Supremacy, where we see him at the end in India finding his grlfriend, where his clothes are exotic and casual. Restoration in 'Ultimatum' is minimal, as we do see him escape the biggest attack from the government, swimming away after a leap from a tall city building, but the future of Bourne is unknown.

Iconography

Guns- Guns are used throughout the film, but is usually by the enemy. Bourne seems to use his cunning skill as an assassin rather than using guns.

Computers- We see the use of computers from both Bourne and the CIA. We generally see Bourne using computers from internet cafées, but see the CIA use supercomputers manned by several operatives to obtain the information and keep the surveillance they need.

Transport/cars- Transport is very iconic in the film. We see alot of action near train stations and even on them, mostly so Bourne can escape. We also see many police cars in the film, to maintain the feeling of their being an endless threat.

city buildings- Alot of the action happens around iconic buildings in the cities of Berlin, London, Madrid, Moscow, Paris and New York.

Characters

Hero: Jason Bourne, although from a different perspective he could be seen as the villain, but for the cause of his aganda I would say he is the protagonist.

Villain: Ex-treadstone operatives- They are the shadowy characters that are trying to frame Bourne as an enemy, and clear up any knowledge of operation blackbriar or treadstone.

Helper:Nicky Parsons- for part of the film she works with him and uses her knowlege as a treadstone informant, but is not with him for the entire film.

Setting

The majority of the film is set in urban cities like London and New York, to represent the industrial and modern developments of today. We see the oficial who are hunting down Bourne in tall office buildings to connote their power, while Bourne maintains at ground level, which represents the lack of authority he has, but doesnt reflect on the amount of power he has.
